Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a Trade Compliance Coordinator to support the efficient movement of goods worldwide. The role focuses on legal compliance, import/export administration, and coordination with customers, freight forwarders, and customs officers. You will also help implement new compliance initiatives and drive process improvements.

The position emphasizes regional expertise, strong communication, and timely handling of compliance tasks to maintain SLA performance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience in a related field.
• Understanding of international trade, customs regulations, incoterms, and supply chain impacts.
• Knowledge of international air and ocean transport logistics processes.
• Strong customer service, negotiation, and clear communication skills.
• Ability to triage, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail with risk awareness and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and provide excellent service to understand their needs and goals.
• Monitor and manage tickets for customs compliance requests and resolve quickly.
• Verify shipping documents and invoices for import/export compliance and accuracy.
• Advise customers on import/export restrictions and regulatory matters.
• Track operational metrics and meet SLAs; escalate issues to management as needed.
• Keep up to date on regulatory requirements and apply new knowledge to improve processes.
• Support project execution and implementation of new compliance initiatives.
