Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support day-to-day compliance activities across import/export, FTZ, and customs processes. The role involves maintaining records, assisting with audits, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

You will work with Trade Compliance leadership and other internal teams to promote a culture of compliance and operational excellence, applying attention to detail and strong communication skills daily.

Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate understanding of import/export, FTZ, and trade compliance concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation with accuracy.
• Ability to follow established procedures and apply compliance requirements consistently.
• Professional communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to identify issues and escalate concerns as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of trade compliance procedures and internal controls.
• Review import/export, FTZ, and customs documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support monitoring activities, discrepancy tracking, and compliance reporting.
• Identify potential compliance concerns and elevate them to leadership.
• Maintain organized compliance records per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with audits by gathering documentation and supporting corrective actions.
• Provide training guidance to employees on trade compliance procedures.
