Job summary

nVent is seeking a senior legal professional to lead its global trade compliance program, aligning strategy with Ethics and Compliance leadership and business priorities. The role requires a JD and active bar license in the U.S., with 8+ years of international trade compliance experience in a global organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required with active bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of international trade compliance experience within a global organization.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, technology, or other complex global supply-chain operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead nVent’s global trade compliance program, including strategy, governance, risk assessments, policies, procedures, controls, and continuous improvement.
• Provide legal advice and operational guidance translating laws into standardized business processes.
• Assess impact of regulatory developments on business units and lead timely changes.
• Develop and resource a high-performing global trade compliance team.
• Partner with stakeholders to embed trade compliance into business processes and systems.
• Oversee training and communications to raise awareness and address higher-risk activities.
• Direct trade compliance due diligence for acquisitions, product changes, or new markets.
• Manage government inquiries, audits, investigations, and remediation actions.
• Develop analytics and reporting to evaluate program effectiveness and risk.
