Job summary

Metrea is seeking a qualified Global Trade & Customs professional to ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, and sanctions laws. The role requires coordinating with Legal, programs, and GTC to apply international trade laws and support international business.

The ideal candidate will interpret export controls, lead authorization workflows, and develop licensing strategies while providing guidance in high‑risk scenarios. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience in trade compliance.
• Experience applying ITAR, EAR, and customs regulations.
• Proficient in DECCS, SNAP‑R, Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of ACE or OCR EASE acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, U.S. Customs and foreign laws.
• Interpret and apply export control requirements to operations.
• Provide guidance for high‑risk or complex compliance scenarios.
• Lead export authorization workflows with accurate documentation.
• Develop and execute licensing strategies.
• Conduct export classification determinations and write rationales.
• Lead export control investigations and corrective action planning.
• Draft or review investigation reports and disclosures.
• Develop and implement compliance policies and SOPs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and deliver training.
