Job summary

1X is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to support day-to-day import and export operations in Hayward, CA. You will ensure compliance with EAR, HTS, FTAs, and denied party screening, partnering with Legal, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Finance to minimize risk and enable growth.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in global trade compliance, experience with ERP or GTM systems, and a track record of managing brokers and audits while helping a hardware company scale internationally.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in global trade compliance
• Strong working knowledge of EAR, HTS classification, export controls, FTAs, denied party screening, and customs compliance
• Experience across NA, EMEA, APAC regions
• Experience managing customs brokers, trade compliance vendors, or third-party logistics partners
• Experience with ERP and/or GTM systems

Responsibilities

• Build and strengthen 1X's global trade compliance program for day-to-day import/export operations across NA, EMEA, and APAC.
• Partner with Legal, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Logistics to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize risk.
• Optimize customs, duties, FTZs, and FTAs while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.
• Maintain tariff classifications, country of origin determinations, export control assessments, and denied party screening processes.
