Job summary

ExxonMobil in Houston, TX is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Advisor to support export controls, trade sanctions, and third-party risk management across its global business lines. You will advise on regulatory interpretation, classify items, and design programs to ensure compliance, training, and continuous improvement.

The role requires deep BIS/OFAC knowledge, strong data analytics, and the ability to work in a virtual, cross-functional environment with stakeholders worldwide.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of U.S. export controls and BIS/OFAC.
• Familiarity with EU and UK trade laws.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in export controls and/or trade sanctions compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a virtual, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise on proper application of export controls and trade sanctions regulations.
• Provide export control classification for items manufactured or purchased by the company.
• Design, implement, and maintain processes and tools for compliance.
• Identify and drive improvements in the overall trade compliance program.
• Develop and deliver training on trade sanctions and export controls.
• Interpret restricted party screening results and guide business lines.
• Lead initiatives to enhance communication and awareness of the program.
• Build partnerships with Business Lines, Centralized Organizations, and Compliance Law.
