Job summary

Gilead Sciences Inc. seeks a Director of Global Trade Compliance to design and lead a comprehensive global program ensuring adherence to import/export laws while enabling efficient product flow across the pharmaceutical supply chain.

This role partners with Legal, Tax, and Finance to balance compliance, risk, and cost optimization, and to drive governance, policy adoption, and system enhancements such as SAP GTS.

Qualifications

• BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD with global trade compliance focus.
• Deep knowledge of import/export regulations, sanctions, and HTS.
• Experience partnering with Legal, Tax, and Finance functions.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead global trade compliance program aligned with corporate objectives.
• Oversee import/export activities including classification, valuation, and licensing.
• Manage licenses, permits, and regulatory certifications; monitor changes.
• Lead internal audits and regulatory investigations; ensure audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Legal, Tax, and Finance to optimize cost and compliance.
