Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking a Senior Director with 12+ years of trade compliance and international trade experience to lead complex client engagements and ensure regulatory compliance. You will advise clients on customs laws, tariff mitigation, FTZs, and export controls, while overseeing operating models, managed services, and client delivery.

This senior role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive experience in trade compliance, international trade, customs, or regulatory consulting.
• Advanced degree (JD or MBA) preferred.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multinational client engagements.
• Experience designing and managing trade compliance operating models and recurring services.
• Deep knowledge of US and global customs laws, tariff mitigation, and FTZs.
• Experience with importer-of-record activities and broker governance.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multiple high-impact, global client engagements with strategic, operational, and financial accountability.
• Provide authoritative guidance on complex trade compliance matters, including US and international laws, tariffs, and sanctions.
• Serve as senior technical advisor and final quality-control authority for analyses, filings, and deliverables.
• Establish, enforce, and improve standardized methodologies, controls, and quality assurance.
• Direct, mentor, and performance-manage Directors, Managers, and project teams.
• Lead design and operation of trade compliance operating models and related services.
• Develop recurring and managed trade compliance services with scalable processes and SLAs.
• Identify compliance risks and provide practical, actionable guidance.
