Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Director of Global Trade Compliance to lead the company’s cross-border compliance strategy. You will own export controls (ITAR/EAR), sanctions, import compliance, and licensing while guiding a growing team across multiple jurisdictions.

The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer within the Legal department and is remote. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years in global trade compliance, with direct BIS/DDTC/CBP/OFAC experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 8+ years of global trade compliance, export controls, or customs experience.
• Strong knowledge of ITAR/EAR, OFAC sanctions programs, and U.S. customs regulations.
• Direct experience interfacing with BIS, DDTC, CBP, or OFAC.
• Ability to advise senior executives and lead a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the global trade compliance program (export controls, import, sanctions, anti-boycott).
• Develop policies, procedures, and internal controls across jurisdictions.
• Oversee classification (ECCN, USML, HTS) and licensing for exports/re-exports/ transfers.
• Manage import compliance activities including customs valuation and tariff classification.
• Lead screening for denied parties and embargoed entities across sales, procurement, partnerships.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits, remediate gaps.
• Lead responses to compliance incidents and inquiries.
• Advise leadership on risks related to products, markets, partnerships, and hires.
• Build, mentor, and manage a growing trade compliance team.
