Job summary

Satair USA, Inc. seeks a Compliance Solutions Specialist (Contract) in Herndon, VA to bridge regulatory requirements with operational data. You will build data models, automate audits, and visualize risks while ensuring U.S. Customs compliance for the aviation aftermarket supply chain.

You will leverage Skywise, PowerBI, and AI tools to enhance regulatory governance and drive process improvements in a dynamic, global trade environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Preferred Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Finance, or Accounting.
• 4+ years of experience in US import compliance and/or import operations.
• Regulatory expertise in U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), HTSUS, and Partner Government Agency requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI to build data models, automate audits, and visualize supply chain risks.
• Ability to read aircraft engineering data to determine accurate trade classification.
• Investigative mindset to identify data anomalies and resolve regulatory discrepancies.
• Preferred 2+ years' tariff classification experience.
• Systems experience with Skywise, SAP GTS, or similar global trade software.
• Knowledge of trade programs like C-TPAT or ISA.

Responsibilities

• Trade Compliance Operations: Oversee HTS and ECCN classification for aviation parts.
• Regulatory Governance: Ensure import/export activities meet U.S. regulations.
• Broker Management: Liaise with customs brokers and subcontractors.
• Data Analytics & BI: Use SQL and Skywise to extract data and identify gaps.
• Visualization: Build PowerBI dashboards to track KPIs and risk.
• Process Automation: Develop VBA/macros to automate entry validation and duties.
• Data-First Auditing: Conduct audits to detect anomalies and prevent penalties.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align master data across systems.
• Strategic Support & Projects: Assist in high-level initiatives and improvements.
