Job summary

R+L Carriers is seeking a Customs Consulting & Compliance Specialist in Hebron Estates, KY to promote our customs brokerage services, engage potential clients, and schedule consultations with the Customs Consulting & Compliance Manager.

You will interface with all client levels, build relationships, and stay current with CBP and PGA programs while delivering compliant, business-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor degree in International Business/Trade, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
• Must possess CCS certification and/or US Customs Broker license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• 5+ years of experience in customs consultancy, import/export operations and compliance.
• Experience with video conferencing platforms (WebEx/Zoom) and Cargowise/CargoWise software a plus.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, trade procedures, and PGA requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote AFC International customs and trade consulting services to potential clients.
• Identify and reach out to prospective clients via calls, emails and social media.
• Build and maintain relationships; tailor solutions to client needs.
• Explain benefits of customs brokerage services and competitive advantages.
• Consult with importers on U.S. Customs and PGA regulations.
• Provide guidance on U.S. Customs clearance for inquiries.
• Schedule appointments for detailed consultations with the Manager.
• Stay current with trends, regulations and CBP/PGA programs.
• Maintain reliable attendance as required by the organization.
• Perform related duties as needed.
