Job summary

Expeditors International is seeking a Trade Compliance Coordinator to support efficient worldwide movement of goods. This role ensures legal compliance and administers import/export controls while coordinating with customers, freight forwarders and customs officers.

The position requires engagement five days a week, including weekend coverage. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years in customs compliance or related operations, strong communication skills, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience required.
• 1-3 years related experience in customs compliance or import/export operations preferred.
• Understanding of international trade and customs regulations, incoterms and supply chain impact.
• Knowledge of international air and ocean transport logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.
• Identify and address issues impacting customer satisfaction; drive solutions.
• Monitor ticketing system for customs compliance requests and resolve quickly.
• Ensure 100% compliance with laws, regulations and policies.
• Review shipping documents and commercial invoices for import/export compliance.
• Advise customers on import/export restrictions and customs matters.
• Track operational metrics and meet SLAs.
• Identify gaps in processes and suggest improvements.
