Job summary

FlightSafety International is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to oversee global export/import compliance, including ITAR/EAR classification, licensing, and liaising with internal partners to ensure regulatory adherence.

The role requires knowledge of 15 CFR/22 CFR regulations, HTS/Schedule B classification, and the ability to maintain accurate records and data for audits. US citizenship and an active clearance are referenced in the requirements.

Qualifications

• BS/BA and/or 2–5 years in a trade compliance function in lieu of degree.
• Proven knowledge of ITAR and EAR; HTSUS and Schedule B understanding.
• Proven knowledge of U.S. Export Control Reform.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Licensed Customs Broker or trade compliance engineer is a plus.
• Experience with ITAR data is a plus.
• Experience with a global trade management software platform is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to determine, substantiate, and assign jurisdiction of items using the ITAR or EAR Order of Review.
• Classify items for import/export by assigning tariff numbers using the HTS and Schedule B.
• Maintain recordkeeping of classification history and relevant data to support determinations.
• Collaborate with team to communicate controls on lists (USML, CCL, Wassenaar, etc.).
• Provide engineering analysis and communicate controls outlined in regulations.
• Stay aware of changing export/import laws and assist with applicability and impact to the company.
• Support the review process and update government declarations (ECCN/USML/Schedule B/HTS).
• Support Global Trade Compliance training initiatives for internal partners.
• Assist strategies around licensing and export authorizations; training as needed.
• Participate in audits and risk assessments; travel as needed.
