Job summary

Copeland, a global climate technologies company, seeks a Trade Compliance Clerk to coordinate export/import regulatory compliance, classifications, and HTS/Goods origin determinations. You will work with brokers, vendors, and logistics to ensure timely and accurate compliance and reporting.

The role reports to the Trade Compliance Manager and requires strong collaboration across supply chain functions, with emphasis on data integrity and process improvement in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2–3 years directly related professional work experience.
• Working knowledge of Trade Compliance; strong understanding of transportation modes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with MS Office Suite and ERP systems (Oracle/JDE) for reporting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate classification and trade compliance audits and projects.
• Generate weekly entry filing and monthly duty/tax reports.
• Maintain customs entry files per US customs guidelines; audit invoices for accuracy.
• Collaborate with brokers, forwarders, and suppliers to resolve delays.
• Verify import documentation for compliance with US and foreign regulations.
• Classify products using HTSUS, EAR, Schedule B, and related regulations.
• Support Comfort Control operations and logistics to align with trade policies.
• Build and maintain reports using JDE/Oracle to meet Global Trade metrics.
• Lead objective setting, measurement, and process improvements in compliance.
• Manage inbound shipments and HTS databases; maintain seal logs and inventory.
• Participate in continuous improvement of the import/export program and document controls.
• Screen daily requests from sales/distribution and OEMs.
• Develop and conduct trade compliance training.
• Other duties as assigned.
