Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to coordinate export/import regulatory compliance including ECCN classifications, HTSUS, EAR and country of origin determinations. Interfaces with brokers, vendors, freight forwarders, plants and distribution centers to ensure compliant shipment execution.

The role reports to the Trade Compliance Manager and requires a bachelor’s degree with 2–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2–3 years related professional work experience.
• Working knowledge of Trade Compliance.
• Strong knowledge of transportation industry including truckload, LTL, air, ocean, and parcel.
• Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be detailed oriented and able to work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong communication, analytical and leadership experience required.
• Experience with Oracle ERP and/or Oracle Global Logistics Modules, CASS; background in Oracle Transportation Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with management on classification and trade compliance audits and projects.
• Run weekly entry filing report and monthly duty and tax report.
• Maintain Customs entry files according to US Customs guidelines; audit entries and invoices for accuracy.
• Coordinate with brokers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to resolve day-to-day issues causing delays.
• Verify import documentation for compliance with US and foreign regulations.
• Classify products for import/export using HTSUS, GRs, Schedule B, EAR.
