Job summary

Waypoint’s client in Huntsville, AL seeks a Lead Systems Engineer to provide systems and interoperability engineering for THAAD with international partners and to support force design efforts and technical exchanges.

The role requires a Secret clearance, 10+ years of related experience, and strong communication and presentation skills for senior leadership. Collaboration with government and industry partners is essential in this high-stakes defense program.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree may be preferred at this level.
• 10+ years of related professional experience.
• Technical understanding and experience with THAAD.
• Experience with DoD terrestrial and satellite communication systems (MILSATCOM).
• Develop and present reports and presentations to senior management; exceptional written and verbal skills required.
• Works independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems.
• Familiarity with Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic Missile Defense System, and THAAD Program Office work efforts.
• Proficiency in system engineering and execution processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems and interoperability engineering, analysis, and technical guidance regarding THAAD with international partners.
• Assist Engineering Lead with managing technical aspects of all assigned force design work.
• Assist with international Tactical Data Link Architecture and attend data link conferences.
• Collaborate on force design technical efforts with external agencies and stakeholders.
• Identify deficiencies in planned or ongoing design reviews and provide fix options.
• Document and communicate interim and final technical findings to senior decision makers.
• Actively participate in regular and ad hoc force design meetings and technical exchanges.
