Job summary

GPC's Manager, Technical Accounting for Global Industrial leads complex lease accounting, restructurings, and significant transactions such as acquisitions and divestitures. You will partner with subsidiaries, Real Estate, Treasury, Finance leadership, SEC Reporting, Internal Audit, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls under U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• Active CPA (or equivalent certification) required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, formulas).
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global lease accounting function and oversee close processes; manage journal entries and internal controls; serve as primary contact for auditor inquiries.
• Perform technical accounting research and develop formal position papers for complex transactions.
• Evaluate derivatives, hedge accounting, and fair value measurement and related disclosures.
• Develop and govern company-wide accounting policies including revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Interpret new accounting guidance, assess financial statement impact, and propose implementations.
• Ensure technical accounting conclusions align with SOX controls and audit requirements.
• Perform technical accounting requirements for material acquisitions and related documentation.
• Conduct goodwill and impairment analyses, including segmentation and restructuring accounting.
• Support quarterly and annual reporting on technical matters; liaise with auditors.
• Collaborate with Valuation, Treasury, Legal and operational leaders on accounting matters.
• Lead or support enterprise-wide finance initiatives and special projects.
• Provide training on new accounting standards and policy updates.
