Job summary

GPC in Atlanta, GA seeks a Manager, Technical Accounting for Global Industrial to lead complex accounting areas including global lease accounting, acquisitions, and restructuring. The role partners with subsidiaries, Real Estate, Treasury, and external auditors to ensure accurate reporting and strong controls.

You will interpret new GAAP guidance (ASC 606, FASB/IASB), support SOX compliance, and guide policy with cross-functional teams while driving strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• Active CPA (or equivalent certification) required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables, formulas).
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global lease accounting function, overseeing close processes; review and approve lease entries; monitor controls; coordinate with subsidiaries and auditors.
• Perform technical accounting research and develop position papers for complex transactions.
• Evaluate derivatives, hedge accounting, and fair value disclosures; support policy governance and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Interpret new guidance from FASB/IASB/SEC; assess impact and propose solutions; ensure SOX alignment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to resolve accounting matters and lead special projects.
