Job summary

Hope Walks is seeking a Fractional Technology Advisor (vCIO) to lead strategic technology roadmap development across global operations. The role emphasizes planning, prioritization, and advisory coaching with the Manager of Technology & Data, front-loaded with assessment and initial build.

The Advisor will guide identity & access, data protection, MSP review, vendor strategy, and AI governance, while presenting to senior leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field required; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including CIO/vCIO or similar senior strategic role.
• Experience building multi-year technology roadmaps for resource-constrained or multinational organizations.
• Experience defining identity, access management, and device-management foundations.
• Experience evaluating and right-sizing outsourced or managed-services engagements (e.g., MSP) for organizational fit.
• Strong project management skills with a history of delivering technology improvements on time and within budget.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical staff, execs, and board.
• Genuine alignment with Hope Walks' mission and values; comfort in a faith-based context.

Responsibilities

• Develop a 3-year technology and data roadmap linking strategy to program delivery, data, finance, HR, reporting, security, and AI.
• Co-execute identity, access rollout and define target-state for centralized IAM and MFA across offices.
• Create a risk-based data protection prioritization framework for multi-country exposure.
• Assess MSP engagement scope and recommend adjustments; evaluate CRM and fundraising tech roadmap.
• Provide governance guardrails for responsible AI tool evaluation and usage.
• Present roadmap, risks, and investment recommendations to senior leadership and board; conduct advisory check-ins.

Education
