Job summary

Tekion, on site in Pleasanton, California, seeks a senior global tax leader to define and execute the company’s international tax strategy, oversee tax operations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 740, and BEPS requirements.

The role partners with executives to navigate M&A and expansions, while directing cross-border teams across time zones. The ideal candidate has 15+ years in corporate tax, a CPA or Master’s in Taxation, and deep ERP/tech experience.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including extensive international exposure and leadership responsibility
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred
• Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 740, OECD guidelines, global tax laws and transfer pricing principles

Responsibilities

• Defines and leads the company’s global tax strategy across jurisdictions
• Oversees Global Tax Operations including income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and tax provision under ASC 740
• Oversees tax compliance, including preparing financial statements in US GAAP and SEC requirements
• Ensures compliance with local tax authorities and coordinates with external consultants for filings
• Manages a team across time zones (e.g., India) to deliver timely compliance and filings
• Advises executive leadership on tax implications of strategic initiatives, M&A and international expansions
• Ensures adherence to U.S. and international tax regulations (OECD/BEPS)
• Leads relationships with tax authorities, auditors and advisors to resolve complex issues
• Monitors evolving global tax legislation and positions the company accordingly
• Drives automation and transformation of tax processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risk
• Develops and mentors a high-performing global tax team and promotes collaboration
