Job summary

The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust in New York City seeks an Associate Program Officer to support the Type 1 Diabetes Program's Global Access portfolio.

You will review proposals, conduct due diligence, draft grant recommendations, monitor grants and budgets, and communicate with grantees and partners. Reporting to a Program Officer, you will help prepare materials for internal and external audiences and assist with meetings and travel as needed to advance insulin access and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in global health or related fields.
• Experience in LMIC contexts and grantmaking is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to synthesize complex information.
• Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Support grantmaking through proposal review, due diligence, and grant recommendations.
• Monitor grant progress, budgets, and reporting; serve as point of contact for questions.
• Synthesize data and prepare materials for internal and external audiences.
• Plan and participate in meetings and conferences with grantees and partners.
• Collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders, including researchers and government bodies.
