Job summary

Philips seeks a Global Systems Engineering Leader for Sleep and Respiratory Care to shape the long-term vision and scalable capabilities of the Systems Engineering group, comprised of 100–200 engineers worldwide.

You will lead a distributed team, drive process improvements, and partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver advanced medical devices from concept through launch, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant regulated environment experience; medical/biotech preferred.
• Experience leading systems engineering organizations of 100+ FTE.
• Ability to influence cross-functional partners beyond R&D (Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Service).
• Strong coaching and leadership aligned with Philips Behaviors.
• Expert knowledge of product development for consumer propositions, preferably medical consumer propositions.
• Proven experience defining an innovation strategy with deep insights to engineering, architecture and research.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across technologies and countries.
• Experience leading complex products from concept through launch.
• Must meet minimum physical, cognitive and environmental job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and implements long-term vision and strategy for the Systems Engineering group.
• Manages capabilities and resources across regions to introduce new technology.
• Leads people management, recruitment, performance reviews, and leadership development.
• Co-responsible for achieving operational plans and optimal allocation of personnel.
• Builds cross-functional relationships with department heads, programs, partners to shape strategies.
• Knows customers well and uses that knowledge in the role.
