Job summary

Base Power is seeking a Supplier Industrialization Engineering Manager in Austin to lead and grow a team dedicated to optimizing supplier manufacturing for high-quality, cost-effective products. You will drive production readiness across equipment, staffing, and processes while partnering with suppliers and internal teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on technical leadership and talent development, with a focus on accelerating supplier qualification and cost-efficient scaling from prototype to mass

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of supplier industrialization, supplier quality, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading engineering teams.
• Knowledge of injection molding, CNC machining, PCB/PCBA, stamping, and assembly techniques.
• Experience in manufacturing line design and evaluating capital costs.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Supplier Industrialization Engineers.
• Scale supplier lines from prototyping to full production.
• Assess suppliers for long-term fit with Base.
• Design and optimize manufacturing processes with suppliers.
• Support supplier qualification audits and quality standards.
• Contribute to manufacturability reviews in product design phase.
• Map supplier processes to identify capacity bottlenecks and growth needs.
• Evaluate should-cost of supplier manufacturing strategies.
