Amgen is seeking an Associate Director Study Start-up to lead world-class study start-up planning and execution across a global portfolio. You will drive quality, efficiency, and speed in launching clinical trials, partnering with global and local teams.

You will coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing group, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong delivery metrics while advancing Amgen’s mission to serve patients.

Qualifications

• Pharma and clinical trial processes expertise; no therapeutic knowledge required.
• Experience leading and managing global teams and project management.
• No prior Veeva experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Study Start-up Managers, ensuring high-quality, compliant study start-up delivery across multiple programs and therapeutic areas.
• Drive end-to-end study start-up planning and execution from global to local, delivering milestones on time and within budget.
• Provide portfolio-level oversight of study start-up performance, resourcing, and delivery metrics, escalating risks with solutions.
• Build team capability through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and role modelling best practices.
• Partner with functional and hub leaders to strengthen study start-up capabilities and operational readiness.
• Own and embed study start-up business processes with training and knowledge sharing.
• Foster a collaborative culture that encourages learning and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to evolution of the Study Start-up Hub model through feedback and continuous improvement initiatives.
