Job summary

Colorado School of Mines is seeking an Education Abroad Advisor to support international mobility and minimize risk for students and the university. This role covers advising, program management, risk and safety processes, Terra Dotta administration, and collaboration with campus partners.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years in international education, Terra Dotta experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2+ years relevant international or higher education experience.
• 1+ year experience with Terra Dotta or similar student management system.
• Strong understanding of international risk, health, safety, and visa processes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong presentation ability.
• Experience developing and leading orientation programs and workshops.
• Advanced organizational, administrative, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of education abroad best practices.

Responsibilities

• Advise and manage all aspects of study abroad including options, requirements, academics, risk, health, safety, visa processes, and applications.
• Market and manage departmental cohort programs and liaise with partner universities.
• Oversee international risk, health, and safety processes; provide pre-departure orientations and reentry orientations.
• Manage travel registration for short-term non-credit bearing international travel.
• Lead Terra Dotta management, updates, reporting, and staff training.
• Collaborate with ISSS, Bursar, Financial Aid, SHIP, and Registrar on registration and billing.
• Coordinate course transfer and maintain education abroad course equivalency database.
• Stay informed on international education trends and best practices.
