Job summary

Colorado School of Mines seeks an Education Abroad Advisor to support student mobility and manage risk for international programs on campus in Golden, Colorado. You will advise outbound students, oversee course approvals, manage cohort programs, Terra Dotta operations, and supervise the Study Abroad Peer Advisors while coordinating with campus offices to promote global education and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of international education experience, Terra Dotta

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years international or higher education experience.
• 1+ year Terra Dotta or similar student management system experience.
• Strong understanding of international risk, health, safety, and visa processes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development.
• Experience developing and leading orientation programs and workshops.
• Advanced organizational, administrative, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of education abroad best practices.

Responsibilities

• Advise outbound students on study abroad options, requirements, risk, health, safety, and visa procedures.
• Oversee program options, applications, academics, risk, health, safety, visa processes for Mines-sponsored programs.
• Market and manage cohort programs; liaise with partner universities.
• Administer travel registrations for short-term international travel.
• Develop guidelines for risk management and emergency procedures with leadership.
• Hire, train, and supervise Study Abroad Peer Advisors.
• Maintain Education Abroad website and support events, scholarships, and communications.
• Lead Terra Dotta-related activities: brochures, updates, reporting, training, and issue resolution.
