Job summary

Medtronic seeks a Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist, Consulting, based in Fridley, Minnesota, with an onsite work model requiring four days in the office to support collaboration with key business partners. You will own sourcing strategy for a global consulting services portfolio with approximately $100M in annual spend, influencing decisions across functions, regions, and business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in sourcing or related field; or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract discussions across indirect spend categories.
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships and collaborating within a matrixed organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies for consulting services.
• Lead competitive sourcing events (RFPs/RFIs) to maximize value.
• Analyze spend data, market intelligence, supplier capabilities.
• Negotiate consulting agreements and contract terms to mitigate risk.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across functions, regions, and business units to understand requirements and influence decisions.
• Prepare and present category insights, sourcing recommendations, and business cases to senior leadership.
• Manage multiple sourcing initiatives while balancing short- and long-term needs.
• Drive continuous improvement within the consulting category through supplier optimization.
