This role blends hands-on architecture with people leadership and delivery accountability across Java/Spring Boot, AWS, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.

The leader will build a high-performing SRE team, partner with product, architecture, security, and operations, and drive measurable improvements in reliability

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software or production engineering experience.
• Leadership of senior engineers and technical leads.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot, API design, security practices.
• Hands-on AWS deployments with IAM, networking, observability.
• Production Kafka, schema evolution, and failure recovery.
• PostgreSQL design, indexing, migrations, and optimization.
• CI/CD, release engineering, testing, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing SRE team with coaching and career development.
• Own the SRE strategy and execution roadmap with reliability improvements.
• Hands-on in architecture, code reviews, and automation.
• Advance AWS infrastructure and platform automation across services.
• Improve Kafka reliability, data integrity, and processing semantics.
• Strengthen PostgreSQL performance and resilience in production.
• Lead release engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment readiness.
• Define service health metrics, error budgets, and incident response.
• Reduce toil with reusable tooling and self-service capabilities.
• Enable responsible AI adoption in engineering and operations.
