Job summary

Zipline is seeking a procurement leader to own global commodity strategy and end-to-end supply chain outcomes for fasteners, consumables, and related off-the-shelf components. Based at our South San Francisco HQ, this in-person role requires 20-30% travel to manage critical suppliers and partners worldwide.

You will consolidate fragmented spend, drive cost savings, and partner with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to ensure supplier readiness and program milestones.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Commodity Management, Supplier Management, or Engineering, or 1+ year with a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end strategy and execution for fasteners, consumables, adhesives, and related off-the-shelf parts.
• Consolidate fragmented OTS spend and suppliers into a strategic category with standards and governance.
• Create a comprehensive view of category spend, SKU usage, supplier overlap, pricing, and demand; identify savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with Engineering to rationalize and standardize components across products; influence designs toward preferred suppliers.
• Lead supplier consolidation and sourcing initiatives to improve leverage and reduce admin complexity.
• Design and scale Vendor Managed Inventory programs with strategic suppliers; define min/max levels, replenishment triggers, and performance metrics.
• Drive total-cost savings through bidding, negotiations, volume building, should-cost analysis, and inventory optimization.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to support production and development builds; act as the primary interface for operational and commercial issues.
• Define and track supplier KPIs; conduct regular reviews and drive corrective actions for deviations.
• Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and reduce transactional burden.
