Job summary

Zipline, based in South San Francisco, seeks a Head of Global Strategic Sourcing to lead its worldwide sourcing organization for direct materials and strategic suppliers.

You will define and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate high-value agreements, and partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Legal to scale Zipline’s autonomous systems globally. This executive role travels 25–40% and drives supplier performance and risk management.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Commodity Management, or Supply Chain Leadership within high-tech industries.
• Experience building and leading global sourcing organizations responsible for multiple commodities and global supply chain execution.
• Executive-level negotiation experience involving complex global supply agreements and multi-year supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing economics, contract law, supplier risk management, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
• Ability to influence executive leadership across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal, Product Management, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Zipline’s global sourcing strategy across all direct materials and strategic supplier relationships.
• Own end-to-end global sourcing strategy across commodities and production programs to support current operations and future roadmaps.
• Lead and develop the Global Supply Management organization, including Commodity Leads and Global Supply Managers.
• Manage executive relationships with Zipline’s strategic suppliers and serve as the primary escalation point for critical issues.
• Establish cost, quality, delivery, capacity, resiliency, and long-term competitive advantage across the supply base.
