Job summary

Supermicro in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Sr. Manager - Key Components to lead global sourcing, supplier relations, and strategic procurement for server components.

You will work closely with engineering and product teams to align roadmaps with procurement and drive GTM initiatives. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in cross-functional leadership within hardware/software product management, strong analytics, and hands-on ability to build supplier networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technical field, MBA or advanced degree desirable
• Knowledge of server/workstation hardware business models preferred
• Knowledge of machine learning accelerators preferred
• 8+ years leading cross-functional teams, preferably in hardware/software product management/marketing
• Strong analytical, marketing, and project management skills with a results-driven track record
• Excellent communication and ability to influence product development/presentation
• Ability to build business relationships from scratch internal and external to Supermicro
• Understanding of B2B business models
• Hands-on capability is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to secure supply and competitive advantage
• Lead contract negotiations and manage strategic supplier relationships
• Analyze market trends, costs and competition to optimize procurement and total cost of ownership
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to align procurement with technology roadmaps
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes using data analytics
• Lead cross-functional GTM initiatives and resolve supply chain bottlenecks
• Support product teams with procurement expertise and leadership
• Collaborate with the sales team to enable business growth
• Coordinate with external vendors on requirements and solutions
