Supermicro in San Jose, CA is seeking a material planning and purchasing professional to plan and purchase materials for current and new products. This role is based at our headquarters in San Jose.

You will partner with suppliers, manage purchase orders, monitor stock levels, and help ensure on-time delivery while supporting cost analysis and lean practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain preferred.
• Minimum 1 year purchasing and planning experience with contract manufacturers, ideally in computer hardware or server products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; Mandarin a plus; ability to present data and create dashboards in Excel.

Responsabilités

• Plan and purchase material requirements for ongoing production and for new products in development.
• Prepare, review, and place department purchasing requisitions.
• Maintain computerized purchasing records and paper filing.
• Monitor and resolve production material shortages.
• Partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to manage purchase orders based on demand.
• Place orders and coordinate with contract manufacturers to meet sales demand and fulfillment.
• Monitor CM production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, including prototypes.
• Update planning spreadsheets and internal reports regularly.
• Review inventory levels against sales forecasts and respond to changes in trends.
• Enter purchase transactions accurately and gather historical and current data.
• Support other projects and tasks as needed by the business.
• Assist in project pricing management and understanding RMAs.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and purchasing materials required for current and new products. This position will be based out of our headquarter in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase material requirements and ensure flow of materials for ongoing production as well as for new products in development
• Prepare, review, place department purchasing requisitions
• Maintain computerized purchasing records and paper filing
• Monitor and resolve production material shortages
• Seek, partner and maintain relationships with reliable outside vendors and suppliers to manage purchase order based on demand
• Place order and follow up closely with counterpart CMs to achieve sales demand and fulfillment
• Monitor and follow up closely with CM production schedule to ensure on-time delivery and monitor it for prototype projects
• Update planning spreadsheets and internal reports on a regular basis
• Review and monitor inventory levels against sales ratio and sales forecast; respond to changes in sales trend and sales forecast
• Enter purchase transactions precisely and gather both historical and current data
• Other projects and tasks may be assigned based on business needs
• Project pricing management, submitting claims, sales order follow up, understanding of RMA policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management preferred
• Minimum of 1 years purchasing and planning experience with contract manufacturers, ideally in computer hardware or server products preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluent in Mandarin a plus
• Ability to present data and analysis in an organized, clear, and concise manner. Ability to create dashboards; pivot tables, VLOOKUP excel skills is a must.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Proven ability to research and apply critical information to evaluate product and conduct cost analysis for competitive pricing and positioning
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Must be comfortable working with cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal
• Familiarity with lean principles and JIT environments
• APICS Certification a plus

Salary Range

$75,000 - $90,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
