Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a results-driven purchasing and planning professional to support production and new product launches. This role is based at our San Jose, CA headquarters and requires coordinating with suppliers to ensure a steady flow of materials.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or SCM, at least three years in purchasing/planning, strong communication, and data analysis skills. APICS certification is a plus for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or SCM preferred.
• Minimum 3 years purchasing and planning experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication; Mandarin a plus.
• Ability to present data and analyze costs clearly.
• Experience with lean principles and JIT environments.
• Experience with hardware design or components a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and purchase material requirements to support current production and new product development.
• Prepare, review, and place purchasing requisitions.
• Maintain purchasing records and filing.
• Monitor and resolve production material shortages.
• Coordinate with vendors and contract manufacturers to manage POs based on demand.
• Ensure on-time delivery by coordinating CM production schedules and prototype projects.
• Update planning spreadsheets and internal reports regularly.
• Review inventory levels against sales forecasts and adapt as needed.
