IDC is seeking a Senior Research Director to lead its coverage of SMB technology markets. You will shape industry understanding, engage directly with clients and vendors, and build IDC’s SMB thought leadership platform.

This global role blends primary research with business development and media appearances to drive impactful market insights and growth. You will manage a diverse research program, collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities, and translate data into strategic

Qualifications

10+ years of market research experience with an analyst firm or technology vendor.
Bachelor's degree required; MBA a plus.
Strong verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
Willing to travel up to 30%.
Experience engaging with clients, prospects, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Develop diverse research deliverables supporting the SMB program.
Serve as a thought leader on the SMB market; maintain client engagement.
Support syndicated research and custom projects across publishing, consulting, forecasting, and thought leadership.
Drive business development by growing subscriptions and consulting business.
Manage SMB program budget and bookings targets.
Collaborate with survey team to ensure data quality and actionable recommendations.
Translate data into client insights and advice for vendors.
