Job summary

Software Placement Group in Rockford, IL is seeking a Director/Manager of Development Engineering to lead its sensor engineering organization. This high-impact role requires guiding the development of advanced sensor products serving automotive, commercial vehicle, off-road, and industrial markets.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams across electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems disciplines, coordinate globally, and engage directly with customers to drive business growth.

Qualifications

• Director or Manager of Development Engineering experience in sensors
• Experience across automotive, commercial vehicle, off road, and industrial sensor markets
• Experience managing engineering groups domestically and globally
• Strong business development and direct customer engagement
• Willing to relocate to Rockford, IL (Janesville, WI)

Responsibilities

• Lead development of sensor products for U.S. and global markets
• Oversee development of electronic-based products with embedded microcontrollers, sensors, and firmware
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across electrical, firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering
• Manage engineering groups across U.S. and global locations
• Engage in business development activities related to sensors, including direct customer contact
