Job summary

Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Supplier Engineering to lead a global supplier‑facing organization. You will build and mentor a high‑impact team, drive supplier quality, development, and risk management, and align supplier activities with product strategy.

Responsibilities include global supply‑chain strategy, supplier selection, development and performance monitoring, change management, and cross‑functional collaboration with DE, ME, QE, PM, and GSC.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead teams to solve complex technical and process problems.
• Proven ability to hire highly capable staff and grow and mentor staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to executives.
• Demonstrated project management skills, ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time.
• Broad Domain knowledge in plastics, metals, electronics, motion control components, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality, cost, schedule, and capacity variables.
• Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques; certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and SAP; experience with Agile is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 25%).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of supplier engineers delivering value to the business.
• Develop and implement a global supplier‑engineering strategy and roadmap.
• Drive supplier selection, development, and collaboration for NPI and global scaled production.
• Monitor supplier performance with KPIs for delivery, cost, and quality.
• Partner with Supplier Quality to resolve CAPA and SCARs and ensure QMS compliance.
• Mitigate supply‑chain risk and drive change management for major launches.
• Influence stakeholders across Global Ops, Engineering, and PMO.
