Job summary

Magswitch Technologies seeks a Senior Technical Applications Engineer (Heavy Lifting Systems) to own applications engineering, system definition, and lifecycle governance for HLS across North America, Europe and Asia.

The role interfaces with Sales, customers and external engineers to translate requirements into structured engineering scopes, drive technical proposals, and manage risk and compliance. Occasional international travel applies.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related field required.
• 7+ years in engineered-to-order equipment, lifting devices, cranes, rigging, automation, or heavy industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical/structural Principles, load calculations, safety factors.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical system definition, standards, and lifecycle framework for HLS.
• Validate information gathered by Sales and confirm feasibility before engineering begins.
• Provide preliminary sizing, feasibility assessments, and configuration recommendations.
• Support customer meetings, technical discussions, and proposal development as the primary technical resource.
• Interface with external vendors on design, change requests, and compliance.
• Translate customer and sales requirements into engineering scopes for outsourced partners.
• Develop technical proposals, customer presentations, and system demonstrations for complex opportunities.
• Support sales with technical validation, risk assessment, and solution alignment.
