Nova Instruments is seeking a full-time, experienced Sales Manager with a background in the non-destructive testing market. This role oversees the global Sales teams in charge of Nova Instruments’ NDT products that are being produced by four of its subsidiaries located in the US, UK and Germany. Specifically, the NDT Sales Manager will lead approximately ten internal sales resources and applications specialists, alongside a comprehensive network of global distributors with a primary focus on driving sales growth within NDT markets. The Sales Manager will use his/her industry insights and technical expertise to derive successful go-to-to-market strategies and advise management of suggested new product development ideas. Lastly, the role will also play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing the effectiveness of service activities. The candidate will be based out of his/her home office and will be expected to travel to visit customers, prospective customers, tradeshows and conferences as well as to the Company’s headquarters as reasonably requested by management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed NDT sales targets consistently for all Nova Instruments brands;
  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities, new markets, and competitive trends;
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts;
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and business objectives;
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to provide feedback, support, and alignment;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, agents, and stakeholders;
  • Lead and manage regional sales managers, engineers and application specialists, including goal setting, performance reviews, and coaching;
  • Come up with ways to assist distributors and agents in increasing market share;
  • Ensure customer inquiries and complaints are addressed timely and effectively
  • Perform product demonstrations, issue quotations, and follow up on sales leads, as required;
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM to track sales opportunities and ongoing projects;
  • Generate sales reports and forecasts as required;
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics to assess progress and inform strategy;
  • Host and perform sales and technical trainings for distributors and sales staff,
  • Plan, prepare and man exhibition stands at relevant industry tradeshows;
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to drive awareness, adoption, and market share;
  • Provide voice-of-customer feedback to marketing and product teams;
  • Control expenses in alignment with approved budgets;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management;

Experience, Skills and Education

  • Sales management professional with a minimum of 7 years’ experience selling NDT instrumentation;
  • Knowledge of composite inspections, ultrasonic inspections and transducers is a strong plus;
  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in NDT/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred;
  • Good understanding of operating analytical devices is essential;
  • Self-motivator who is comfortable operating autonomously, yet within Company guidelines;
  • Proven leadership and team management skills;
  • Ability to relate well to people, especially other engineers, and customers of various nationalities;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Experience using a CRM for sales prospecting, forecasting, and reporting;
  • Strong computer skills and experience with modern business software tools (MRP, Office);
  • High degree of independent judgement and integrity;
