Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle seeks a Global Safety Engineer to support AWS Hardware Engineering and Design Teams.

You will provide technical leadership to ensure products and installations are safely maintained and operated by AWS employees, and you will partner across disciplines to manage safety programs globally. The role involves applying inherently safe design, leading risk assessments, guiding incident investigations, and aligning with regulatory standards while helping transform

Qualifications

• 3+ years of technical product or program management experience.
• 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide HS input during product scoping to ensure safety concerns are identified.
• Collaborate with Hardware Engineering, Data Center Engineering, GTPC, PC Legal, HS Legal, and Operations on design safety.
• Develop and implement Inherently Safe Design principles within work processes and new equipment designs.
• Review schematics and drawings and provide HS input during development and phased reviews.
• Complete preliminary design risk assessments during the Engineering Validation/Testing phase.
• Validate equipment functionality and worker safety against risk assessments and updates.
• Evaluate field activities against risk assessments, SOPs and MOPs.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment/product safety to design labs in Seattle.
