Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Safety Engineering Manager to drive a strategic global safety program within the Health and Safety team. You will lead the safety engineering function, mentor engineers, and set team vision and objectives across multiple jurisdictions.

You will partner with diverse AWS teams, translate ambiguity into clear requirements, and deliver risk management, policy development, and program improvements that scale with AWS infrastructure worldwide.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of safety engineering and program design for global operations.
• Proven track record of designing, deploying, and managing safety programs.
• Experience building partnerships across diverse teams and jurisdictions.
• Ability to define requirements in ambiguity and communicate up to executive levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team of Safety Engineers and the safety lab.
• Direct multiple safety engineering projects, including writing, deployment, and improvements.
• Build trusted partnerships with partners and customers to understand business needs.
• Collaborate with AWS programs, field safety, engineering and other functions on H&S solutions.
• Define and execute strategic planning, roadmaps, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Demonstrate time management and independent work within centralized policies.
