Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP is seeking a Risk Associate to support the global onboarding process and conflict management for new clients and matters. You will conduct initial conflict analyses, perform company and ownership research, and assist with risk checks to ensure compliance with firm procedures.

The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, strong communication with teams across offices, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in a professional or legal office environment.
• Familiarity with conflict-resolution rules, governance issues, and geopolitical considerations.

Responsabilités

• Conduct initial analysis of Conflict Check Reports for new business and hires.
• Research companies, organizations, and individuals using internal and public records.
• Support client and matter onboarding by performing risk checks and addressing conflicts.
• Perform ad-hoc research and analysis as needed.
• Maintain and update client/matter information in internal databases.
• Demonstrate strong customer-service mindset and team collaboration while able to work independently.
• Support risk department on special projects related to compliance and conflict-management.
• Be available for occasional overtime, including evenings and weekends.
