Job summary

Accion seeks an Associate General Counsel to guide risk, compliance, and governance for its global operations. The role involves advisory work across privacy, technology, employment, and corporate matters in multiple jurisdictions including the US, Colombia, India and Singapore.

You will partner with the Deputy General Counsel to strengthen programs, manage outside counsel, and support strategic initiatives in a mission-driven, hybrid/remote setup.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years of legal experience in nonprofit, financial services, or a large law firm.
• Experience in risk management, regulatory compliance and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Support risk, compliance, governance and corporate matters globally.
• Advise on privacy, technology contracts and vendor agreements.
• Manage employment, immigration and international mobility issues.
• Assist Board governance and documentation, including resolutions and records.
• Draft, review and negotiate broad legal agreements across jurisdictions.
• Develop training programs and implement policies to strengthen compliance.
