Job summary

Accion seeks an Associate General Counsel to join its global legal team and advise on risk, compliance, governance, employment, privacy, and technology matters affecting its nonprofit and for-profit entities.

Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, you will support governance programs, manage contracts with outside counsel, and help scale responsible digital financial solutions worldwide from a base in Washington, D.C. (hybrid) or remote within the Eastern Time Zone.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership.
• 5+ years of legal experience with large U.S. nonprofit, financial services company, or law firm.
• Experience across governance, regulatory compliance, employment, privacy, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Advise on risk, compliance, governance, employment, privacy, and technology across global operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements; coordinate with outside counsel.
• Support Board governance, policy development, and strategic initiatives.
