Job summary

American International Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Reinsurance Accounting to lead accounting and controlling activities for complex external reinsurance programs, including Lloyds and global catastrophe treaties. The role oversees onshore/offshore teams and collaborates with Treasury, Finance and Audit to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership in a controller capacity for a public P&C insurer.
• Advanced knowledge of reinsurance operations, including underwriting, claims, accounting, finance and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage key accounting and operational controlling requirements for a third-party reinsurance program with a Lloyds reinsurer.
• Oversee accounting for global catastrophe reinsurance programs across contract years; coordinate with global Treasury.
• Identify and address accounting for cash calls, reinstatement premiums and retrospective reinsurance.
• Provide oversight of Travel Reinsurance activity and support external/internal audits.
