Job summary

LB Foster is seeking a CWR Maintenance Technician to travel to domestic and international sites, coordinating and planning work activities with customers. The role covers operation and maintenance of the Pilot Unloader for CWR Train and maintenance for Yard Operations at the Columbia City Yard.

Responsibilities include field preventive maintenance, equipment upkeep at the Columbia City yard, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Valid U.S. Passport required.
• Minimum 3 years of hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and schematics reading experience.
• ERailsafe and Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) certification for applicable client railways.
• Employee will need to have current Passport.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule unloading with railway personnel.
• Perform preventive maintenance on CWR equipment in the field.
• Maintain equipment at Columbia City yard and ensure operation of machinery.
• Remove or fabricate parts using power tools and welding equipment.
• Maintain technical knowledge through classes and publications.
• Coordinate work with outside vendors to meet quality standards.
• Lead Safety Committee activities under Yard manager.
• Document and report travel, expenses, and daily logs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment per procedures.
• Work with little supervision and stay on task.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
