Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a resource strategy and budgeting leader to forecast and manage global resourcing. You will collaborate with functional heads, Business Operations, and Finance to align resources with strategic goals and budgets, while guiding portfolio timelines and financial opportunities across R&D.

The role requires presenting data to executive leadership, influencing stakeholders in a matrix environment, and driving improvements in operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Advanced degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA).
• 4+ years with a Bachelor's, 3+ with a Master's and 2+ with a PhD in a competitive, fast-paced environment such as top-tier management consulting or pharmaceutical R&D.
• Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed organization as a consultant to a pharmaceutical organization or internal cross-functional lead.
• Demonstrated ability to present data and metrics to executive leadership for better business outcomes.
• Proven team player with facilitative leadership in a global matrix environment and the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact externally and internally to support business strategy.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Forecasting and management of resources and budget across functions.
• Provide leadership and strategic recommendations to ensure resources and budgets align with plans.
• Develop portfolio timelines and cost estimates; negotiate with other functions on outcomes.
• Partner with VPs to set departmental goals and lead strategic business issues.
• Collaborate across R&D to improve operational performance and decision making.
• Develop business relationships across AbbVie to support R&D objectives.
• Serve as resource financial expert and build relationships with finance resources.
• Establish tools and processes to ensure proficiency with systems, procedures, and guidelines.
