Responsibilities

• Serve as accountable executive owner for global R&D public affairs and communications strategy with clear decision rights and governance.
• Advise R&D and enterprise leaders on reputation, disclosure readiness, and external dynamics impacting priorities.
• Lead annual objectives and KPIs to ensure strategy focus, accountability, and high-impact outcomes.
• Oversee communications for milestones: trial initiations, data readouts, regulatory submissions, and labeling updates.
• Coordinate with Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Compliance, Investor Relations, and regional teams to ensure accurate, compliant communications.
• Prepare talking points, Q&A, holding statements, and backgrounders for milestone announcements.
• Shape a scalable global playbook and align regional teams to ensure consistent enterprise narratives.
• Evolve an R&D narrative highlighting Gilead\'s scientific ambition and unmet medical needs.
• Translate complex science into credible, audience-specific storytelling for employees, media, policymakers, and patient communities.
• Lead internal communications on strategy, portfolio evolution, and organizational changes to build clarity and engagement.
• Support talent development and succession planning within Public Affairs and R&D teams.
