Gilead Sciences Inc. in Washington, D.C., or Foster City, CA, seeks a Director of State Reimbursement Policy to lead policy priorities related to pricing, reimbursement, and coverage for pharmacy dispensed products.

You will partner with the SGA team to develop strategic positioning and messaging for state government affairs across HIV, liver disease, and COVID-19 policy areas. The role requires 12+ years in policy/government affairs, an advanced degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. degree and a minimum of 12 years of experience in policy, government, government affairs or related, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with an M.S./M.A. or MBA.
• Excellent verbal, analytical, written and interpersonal communications skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills – demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple work streams, build/develop/execute through cross-functional teams consisting of a strong portfolio of skills and expertise, and timelines simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to focus on top organizational priorities, and rapidly respond to inquiries and requests from colleagues.
• Knowledge of government policies that impact the pharmaceutical industry, as well as knowledge of how state governments make decisions and what types of input can help shape those decisions.
• Strong understanding of how the Medicaid program works, including Medicaid drug rebate calculation.
• Experience with state regulation of commercial health plans.
• Be willing and able to travel domestically (25%).

Responsabilités

• Partner with the SGA team to identify policy needs with a focus on materials that would support the team's advocacy efforts.
• Develop materials and strategies to support the SGA team’s advocacy across therapeutic areas and cross-cutting issues. Work in collaboration with other policy team members to ensure an aligned policy perspective.
• Attend SGA team meetings as needed and develop strong relationships with the SGA team.
• Staff national trade association workgroups related to state government policy, reflecting Gilead’s perspective in those discussions, and sharing the output from that discussion with the SGA team and others as appropriate.
• Ensure a seamless flow of information between the SGA and Policy team and ensure timely development and delivery of high-quality state policy deliverables.
