Job summary

Away is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance & Strategy to lead our Quality team and own the strategic roadmap to optimize our global supply chain from the US to Asia. You will champion data-driven quality and partner with Product Development to align suppliers with Away’s product roadmap.

You will drive engineering innovation, cost optimization, and post-purchase initiatives that improve the customer experience while maintaining brand integrity in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality leadership with a deep technical background in engineering, and a proven track record of scaling global QMS and modernizing them through technology and data-led innovation.
• Deep expertise in raw materials and finished goods engineering, with an understanding of equipment tooling and retooling.
• Leadership presence and a no-ego collaborative style to advocate for quality standards across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the evolution of Quality at Away, building a proactive, tech-enabled model that optimizes the entire global supply chain.
• Design and govern technical excellence standards for global factory partners and ensure manufacturing infrastructure meets the product roadmap.
• Lead the integration of AI-driven analytics into the product lifecycle to turn post-purchase data into automated feedback loops for future design and sourcing.
• Manage routine testing programs and act as escalation point for quality issues with US and Asia leadership on supplier strategy.
• Champion cost-of-quality initiatives and value engineering to reduce warranty claims and improve customer experience.
