Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Cambridge, MA seeks an Associate Director, Global Proteomics to lead a mass spectrometry proteomics platform within the Discovery Technologies and Molecular Pharmacology (DTMP) group.

You will oversee a wet-lab team, deliver on proteomics studies for target ID/validation, MoA elucidation, and biomarker discovery, and partner with bioinformatics to enable data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Doctorate (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology or related field) required.
• 8+ years hands-on proteomics lab experience; 4+ years in drug discovery.
• Proven track record leading mass spectrometry operations with measurable portfolio impact.
• Proficiency with LC and MS platforms (examples: ACQUITY, Vanquish Neo, Evosep One; Orbitraps).

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of wet-lab scientists with a culture focused on scientific excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Establish delivery frameworks with SLAs, cycle-time targets, and prioritization aligned to portfolio decisions.
• Plan, oversee, and provide oversight for proteomics studies supporting target ID/validation and biomarker discovery.
• Partner with bioinformatics/data science to ensure QC, FAIR data, and analysis; apply AI-enabled approaches to proteomic data interpretation.
• Collaborate across multiomics to design integrated studies and interpret data with transcriptomics, genomics, and spatial readouts.
• Translate proteomics findings for governance forums; influence study design and portfolio strategy.
• Shape the platform priorities and roadmap, balancing delivery with new capabilities.
